HYDERABAD, JULY 31, 2025: In a landmark year for international recognition, distinguished legal scholar and human rights advocate Dr. Srinivas Kaveti has been conferred with three prestigious global honours in 2025 for his outstanding contributions to international human rights, legal reform, and global justice advocacy.
- Nelson Mandela Award – Oxford, United Kingdom
On the occasion of Nelson Mandela International Day, Dr. Kaveti was awarded the Nelson Mandela Award during a formal ceremony held in Oxford, United Kingdom. The award was presented by The Right Worshipful Lord Mayor of Oxford, Councillor Lubna Arshad, in recognition of his leadership in legal equity, constitutional reform, and justice for marginalised communities.
“To be honoured in Mandela’s name is a solemn reminder of the enduring fight for justice and dignity. This award reaffirms my commitment to the values of equality and human rights,” said Dr. Kaveti in his acceptance remarks.
- Indian Overseas Award – Library of Congress, Washington, D.C.
Earlier in 2025, Dr. Kaveti was conferred the Indian Overseas Award by the NRI Welfare Society of India at a prestigious event hosted at the Library of Congress, Washington, D.C. This recognition celebrates the impactful contributions of the Indian diaspora in the domains of law, diplomacy, development, and human welfare.
- Recognition by the Global Confederation for Promotion and Development, Inc. (UN ECOSOC)
The third honour came from the Global Confederation for Promotion and Development, Inc., an international organisation that has held Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) since 2021.
In recognition of his work in sustainable legal development, policy advocacy, and capacity building, Dr. Kaveti was officially represented as a global ambassador of justice and legal empowerment. The Confederation acknowledged his work as integral to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the areas of peace, justice, and strong institutions.
