KARIMNAGAR, JANUARY 24, 2026: Eminent Paediatrician and Adolescent Specialist Dr Vijay Kumar Challuri (SV hospital in Karimnagar town) celebrated the National Girl Child Day on Saturday by organising a medical and anaemia screening camp for the benefit of girl students at Zilla Parishad High School, LMD colony, Karimnagar town.
Dr Vijay Kumar has taken up the programme in memory of his father Ch Srisailam. After conducting the anaemia and medical camp, the doctor distributed medicines and iron syrups free of cost. Similarly, Gynaecologist Dr Adepu Manasa enlightened the girl students about menstrual hygiene and distributed sanitary napkins to them.

Dr Vijay Kumar and Dr Manasa interacted with girl students and motivated them to excel in various fields of life and always remain unstoppable. Mr Vijay Kumar said the day is celebrated to spread awareness about the inequalities faced by girls in Indian society and to raise awareness about the rights of the girl child and the importance of female education, health and nutrition. The day is in line with various campaigns and programmes of the Indian Government, including Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and Save the Girl Child.

Headmistress of the school, Shamima Nazam, retired teachers G Ashok and Jayapal Reddy, teachers Mumtaz Fathima, Srinivas, Bansilal, Bhaskar Reddy, and others felicitated the doctors for their yeoman service for the benefit of girl students.
