Singareni Chairman reviews progress on solar plant construction
HYDERABAD, JULY 10,, 2025: Singareni CMD N.Balram has warned that the solar plant constructions taken up by Singareni under the directions of the state government must be completed within the contractually stipulated timelines, failing which the contracts of agencies showing negligence in construction works will be cancelled, and they will be blacklisted.
On Thursday, at Singareni Bhavan, Hyderabad, he held a special review meeting with officials and concerned contractors on the delays in solar plant construction. He thoroughly reviewed the construction of the 54.5 MW solar plants pending under Phase 1 and the construction process of the 67.5 MW capacity solar plants pending under Phase 2. He expressed strong dissatisfaction with the construction agencies causing severe delays without completing the works within the specified timeframe.
He remarked that it is unfortunate that despite Singareni ensuring timely bill payments, the construction agencies are failing to complete their works on time. He instructed them to complete the assigned works quickly by October, making it clear that no further extensions would be given.
He emphasized that the construction agencies should consider this as their final opportunity, and if the constructions are not completed by October, the contracts awarded to such agencies will be cancelled, and those displaying negligence in their work will be blacklisted by the company. He also directed Singareni Solar officials to take special initiative and work with dedication to ensure the construction works are completed by October. He warned that if the solar plant works are not completed within the stipulated period, the performance of the concerned officials will be recorded in their service records.
He also ordered that the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) being set up alongside the 28 MW solar plant at Mandamarri must be completed by August. Under the Central Government’s Surya Ghar Yojana scheme, he specified that all works related to the construction of 32.75 MW rooftop plants on various Singareni buildings must be completed by the end of December.
The meeting was attended by Director (E&M) D Satyanarayana Rao, ED (Coal Movement) S.D.M. Subhani, General Manager (Solar) B Sitaramam, General Manager (Workshop) Frijeral, PPD (HOD) Vishwanatharaju, concerned area engineers, solar plant engineers, workshop engineers, and representatives from various contracting agencies.
