HYDERABAD, SEPTEMBER 11, 2025: Officials of the Drugs Control Administration, Telangana, raided a quack’s clinic in Thana Khurd village of Mugpal mandal in Nizamabad district and seized drugs on Wednesday.
On credible information, Drugs Control Administration officials raided the premises of a quack/unqualified practitioner, Resu Naresh, in Thana Khurd Village, Mugpal Mandal, Nizamabad District, who was conducting clinical practice without proper qualifications at his clinic. During the raid, DCA officials detected 29 varieties of medicines, including antibiotics, analgesics, cough syrups, antiulcer drugs etc., stocked at the premises without a drug licence. Worth of the stock seized is Rs. 8,000/-.
DCA officials detected higher levels of ‘antibiotics’, specifically Cefuroxime, at the clinic during the raids. Indiscriminate sale of antibiotics by unqualified persons may have disastrous consequences on the health of the public, including the emergence of ‘Antimicrobial Resistance’. R. Srilatha, Drugs Inspector, Nizamabad Rural and V. Srikanth, Drugs Inspector, Nizamabad Urban, carried out the raid under the supervision of Sri. N. Narsiah, Assistant Director, Nizamabad.
DCA Director-General Shahnawaz Qasim has informed the public to report any complaints regarding illegal activities related to medicines, as well as any other suspected manufacturing activities concerning drugs, including narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, in residential, commercial, or industrial areas through the Drugs Control Administration, Telangana Toll-Free Number 1800-599-6969, operational from 10:30 am to 5:00 pm on all working days.
