14 lakh cubic meters of OB to be removed
Every employee must have awareness of the company’s expansion plans
Everyone must strive to improve the work culture
KOTHAGUDEM, OCTOBER 01, 2025: To achieve the coal production targets set for this financial year, Singareni Chairman and Managing Director N. Balram has directed that 2.25 lakh tonnes of coal must be produced and transported every day, and 14 lakh cubic meters of overburden (OB) must be removed daily. On Wednesday, through a video conference from the Singareni headquarters at Kothagudem, he conducted a special review meeting with all the Area General Managers.
He stated that due to heavy rains in the last three months, during the first six months of this financial year, only 91% of the production target and 93% of the transport target were achieved. He emphasised that in the coming six months, special focus must be placed on production. To compensate for the losses caused by the rains, the production targets have now been revised upwards. He added that in the last two months, several key decisions were taken that will support the survival and bright future of Singareni.
Importantly, the company has now entered into the field of critical mineral exploration. Approval has also been received from the government to participate in the auction of coal blocks and other minerals. At the same time, he expressed gratitude to the government for allotting 10 acres of land in the Future City for the construction of Singareni’s International Office.
As Singareni is moving towards multi-faceted expansion, CMD stressed that all employees must have a clear understanding of the company’s financial position and expansion plans. He urged that every employee should strive to further improve the work culture and that, for the company’s survival, each employee must work for a full 8 hours in every shift. He underlined that efficient utilisation of human resources is essential for Singareni to emerge as an international player.
He emphasised the need to produce safe and quality coal, pointing out that only by increasing production and productivity can the coal sector ensure its survival. He also mentioned that, going forward, review meetings will be held area-wise with the respective officials.
The meeting was attended by Directors L.V. Suryanarayana, K. Venkateswarlu, Gautham Potru, Tirumala Rao, and from Hyderabad, Executive Director (Coal Movement) B. Venkanna, GM (Coordination & Marketing) T. Srinivas, along with all Area GMs and Corporate GMs.
