CMD N Balram at the 39th Constructive Meeting
Extends full cooperation for Singareni’s sustainable future
Special thanks to the CMD for globalising Singareni – Recognised Union Honourary President and MLA Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao
HYDERABAD, NOVEMBER 10, 2025: Singareni CMD N Balram emphasised that every employee must be a participant in ensuring a sustainable future for Singareni, which is evolving into an international organisation under the guidance of the state government. He appealed to the recognised workers’ union to support management initiatives aimed at improving work culture, especially by ensuring that every employee must utilise 8 8-hour shift dedicated to the company.
Speaking at the 39th Constructive Meeting with the recognised workers union, Singareni Collieries Workers Union, held on Monday at Singareni Bhavan, Hyderabad, Sri Balram stated that coal prices have been reduced to remain competitive, making it imperative to lower production costs. This would enable the continuation of welfare programs and the creation of employment opportunities. He urged employees to utilise full working hours and maximise machinery usage. He also stressed the need to raise awareness among absentee workers to improve discipline, safety and quality.
Mr Balram revealed that Singareni is planning an expansion to operate in 10 states across India. To transform the coal-centric company into a 5,000 MW renewable energy producer, Singareni Green Energy and Singareni Global Limited will be established for global mineral exploration and mining. With 40,000 employees and 30,000 contract workers depending on the company, efforts are underway to acquire new coal blocks through auctions, ensuring a future for the next 100 years.
Welfare Initiatives and Infrastructure Development…
Singareni is implementing welfare programs unmatched by any other company in the country. Over ₹300 crore is being invested to construct 1,000 spacious double-bedroom quarters in areas including Godavarikhani, Srirampur, Manuguru, Kothagudem, and Bhupalpally. A Cath Lab will be established in Godavarikhani within two months, and steps are being taken to set up a super-speciality hospital in Hyderabad. A CBSE school has already been launched in the Ramagundam-2 area, with plans to expand to other regions to provide national-level education to employees’ children.
Mr Balram reiterated that, while employee welfare is the company’s responsibility, improving work culture is a shared responsibility for the company’s survival.
During the recent meeting, Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao, MLA of Kothagudem and Honourary President of the Singareni Collieries Workers Union, appreciated CMD N. Balram for his proactive initiatives in transforming Singareni into an international company. He acknowledged the sacrifices made by the union to safeguard the organisation and emphasised the need to introduce a housing scheme for workers and establish a Cath Lab in Kothagudem.
He urged the management to enhance medical services for retired workers and proposed the establishment of a thermal power plant in Kothagudem, keeping in view the region’s future. He also requested the launch of a new project in Yellandu, the birthplace of Singareni, to secure its future. Sri Sambasiva Rao praised the management’s initiative to provide ESI services to contract workers and expressed his gratitude for allocating CSR funds towards the modernisation of the Kothagudem bus stand.
Recognised workers’ union president Vasireddy Seetharamaiah presented several issues to the management. CMD N. Balram assured that all concerns raised through the union would be reviewed in accordance with company policies and that financial matters would be addressed through dedicated committees.
