HYDERABAD, FEBRUARY 20, 2026: The convocation ceremony of the 9th batch of students trained under the Furniture and Fittings Skill Council (FFSC) for the job role Multipurpose Assistant – Furniture Production and Installation (NSQF Level–3, FFS Q0901) was held today at the FFSC–NSTI Campus, Vidyanagar.
Nine candidates from a tribal village of Kothagudem and Bhadrachalam districts, who were sponsored by Shri Jitesh V. Patil, IAS, District Collector, completed their training, passed the assessment and received their certificates along with other trainees from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Shri R. Krishnaiah, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Chief Guest, distributed the certificates. He noted that FFSC has been working for the benefit of the common people by identifying unemployed youth from economically weaker sections and equipping them with industry-relevant skills. He appreciated the companies that have come forward to provide placements and acknowledged the CSR contribution of M/s Green Panel, Srikalahasti (Tirupati district), towards skill development in the furniture and interior industry.

Priya S., Principal, NSTI (Women), Vidyanagar, welcomed the dignitaries and expressed happiness that around 200 candidates have been trained by FFSC across nine batches so far. She highlighted that 20 women trainees have completed furniture production training and secured placements in Hyderabad.
All 20 trainees received apprenticeship offer letters from Hyderabad-based companies, including M/s ANB Interiors & Exteriors, Comfos, Krissm Modulars, Arani Wood, Modulux Interio and Araniwood, with stipends ranging from ₹15,000 to ₹18,000 per month.
In his address, R. Krishnaiah observed that India has a rich tradition of skilled craftsmanship as reflected in its historical architecture and monuments. He emphasised the importance of skill development for sustainable livelihoods and also highlighted the need for learning emerging technologies, including applications of Artificial Intelligence, in modern workplaces. He appreciated the advanced machinery and training facilities available at the FFSC Centre of Excellence.
Shri Aditya Margam, Chairman, Rajiv Gandhi ITI, Nirmal District, expressed pride in participating in the convocation and underlined the importance of skilling and upskilling throughout one’s career.
Prasanth P., Vice President – Regional Skill Chapters (South), briefed about the courses in high demand based on the skill gap study of the Hyderabad industry. He urged parents of unemployed youth in Telangana to recognise the potential of the furniture and interior sector as a sunrise industry offering opportunities for employment and entrepreneurship.
