
HANAMKONDA, JULY 26, 2025: In a bid to enhance public safety and cooperation, the Hanumakonda police conducted a Community Police Awareness Programme in Srinagar Colony here on Saturday.
During the event, Inspector M. Shiv Kumar emphasised the importance of community policing in preventing crimes. Addressing the residents, Shiv Kumar highlighted the need for vigilance, especially in light of recent incidents of house burglaries and chain-snatching. He advised women to avoid going out alone in the evenings and urged residents to report any suspicious activity to the police.
The inspector also stressed the benefits of installing surveillance cameras, stating that it would not only aid the police but also help mitigate crimes in the colony. Shiv Kumar praised Warangal Police Commissioner Sunpreet Singh’s efforts to make Warangal a drug-free and crime-free city and appealed to the residents to cooperate with the police.
He also warned against fraudulent investment schemes and work-from-home scams, advising parents to keep a close eye on their children. The programme saw participation from several residents, including Srinagar Colony Welfare Association office-bearers President M. Shankaraiah, General Secretary Sriramoju Bikshapathi, Vice Presidents R Udaydheer Reddy and D Vikram Reddy, Joint Secretaries R Ramesh Kumar, D Vasudeva Reddy and N Venugopal Rao, residents of the Colony Kudikala Sreeramulu, Bandaru Muralidhar, Yadagiri Goud, Bakki Yadagiri, Kedari and featured addresses from SI Satish, P Sadanandam, and ASI Sarvesham.
