HYDERABAD, FEBRUARY 10, 2026: Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao presided over the 8th State Broadband Committee meeting at the Secretariat on Tuesday and reviewed the progress of broadband and telecom infrastructure development in the state.
Addressing the meeting, the Chief Secretary stated that the state government aims to ensure the availability of affordable and reliable broadband services across Telangana. He stated that the objective is to connect even the last village in sync with the National Broadband Mission, ensuring inclusive and affordable digital connectivity for all citizens.

The Chief Secretary said that the state will effectively play its dual role as a regulator and facilitator to promote the rapid expansion of telecom and broadband infrastructure. He directed that District Level Telecom Committee (DLTC) meetings should be convened by the District Collectors within the next fortnight to expedite coordination and address field-level issues. He also stressed the need for extensive awareness among field officials regarding the utilisation of the “Call Before U Dig” (CBuD) application to prevent damage to underground telecom infrastructure during excavation works.
The Chief Secretary noted that Telangana’s T-Fiber Pilot Villages initiative has been widely hailed as an innovative approach to strengthening rural broadband connectivity. He further observed that the state is performing above the national average in several key parameters related to telecom infrastructure.
The meeting also discussed the implementation of the Central Right of Way (RoW) Rules and measures to streamline permissions for laying telecom infrastructure while ensuring minimal disruption to public services. Special Chief Secretary Energy Navin Mittal, Special Chief Secretary MAUD Jayesh Ranjan, Special Chief Secretary Industries Sanjay Kumar, Senior officials from concerned departments and representatives of telecom service providers attended the meeting.
