KARIMNAGAR, FEBRUARY 28, 2026: The Women Empowerment Cell of Government Degree College for Women (Autonomous), Karimnagar town, in collaboration with the Lions International, Karimnagar, has inaugurated a Certificate Course in Beautician course to promote skill development and self-employment opportunities for girl students, on Saturday.
The programme was formally launched by Women Empowerment Cell coordinator B. Rajani Devi under the guidance of Principal Professor Varalakshmi and Vice Principal Afsari Osmani. The initiative aims to empower young women by equipping them with professional beauty and wellness skills, enabling them to become financially independent and entrepreneurial.

The event was graced by prominent members of Lions Club, including Ragi Vandana, Lions Club Governor Simharaju Kondaram, District Cabinet Secretary Singireddy Vasudeva Reddy, District Cabinet Treasurer Galipalli Venkat, Boinapally Sarala (Region Chairperson), and Rajendra Prasad (Zone Chairperson), along with Boorla Anuradha.

Trainer Sanjana will conduct the course, providing hands-on training in beautician techniques, grooming, skincare, and salon management practices.
Speaking on the occasion, the Principal appreciated the support extended by Lions International and emphasised the importance of vocational courses in enhancing employability and entrepreneurship among women students.
The college management expressed gratitude to Lions International Karimnagar for their collaboration and commitment towards women’s empowerment and skill development.
