
KARIMNAGAR, DECEMBER 14, 2025: Principal of Sri Raja Rajeshwara Government Arts and Science College (Autonomous), Karimnagar, Prof Kalvakunta Ramakrishna, has formally released newly authored Botany textbooks at the Botany Department of SRR College on Monday.
The books have been written by Padala Thirupathi, a faculty member of the Department of Botany, in accordance with the New Education Policy (NEP). One of the books is designed for Intermediate First Year students of Andhra Pradesh, covering the Botany syllabus in Biology, and is aimed at enhancing conceptual clarity among students.
Another textbook titled “Non-Vascular Plants”, written for first-year M.Sc. Botany students of Dr B.R. Ambedkar Open University were released by Kadaru Surender Reddy, General Secretary of the Government Degree Colleges Teachers’ Association. The book has been prepared in accordance with the revised PG syllabus under the NEP, presenting updated topics with simplified explanations and contemporary illustrations to facilitate better understanding.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Ramakrishna stated that the publication of such academic books as per the New Education Policy is a matter of pride for the college. He expressed his desire to see many more scholarly and widely recognised publications emerging from the institution in the future.
Kadaru Surender Reddy congratulated Padala Thirupathi for his commendable academic contribution and remarked that the book would be highly useful for postgraduate students of M.Sc. Botany at Ambedkar Open University. He further noted that the Botany Department of SRR College has been consistently contributing both to research and to the publication of quality academic books, greatly benefiting students.
The programme was attended by Tiru Kovela Srinivas, Head, Department of Botany; Kiranmayi Kamadri, Head, Department of Zoology; Mamidipalli Satya Prakash, Head, Department of Political Science and Staff Club Secretary; Madhu Rajesh, Head, Department of Mathematics; Uma Rani, Administrative Officer; Tandra Karunakar, Assistant Professor of Chemistry; Assistant Professors of Botany Routhu Radhakrishna, Mohammed Tahir Hussain, Kandukuri Kalajyothi, Bunga Thirupathi, Mohammed Tajuddin and Asampalli Swaroopa Rani; Assistant Professors of Zoology Thota Mahesh and Asampalli Nagaraju, along with several teaching and non-teaching staff members.
