
The donor handed over the blades to TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu at the Chairman’s Camp Office in Tirumala.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman stated that TTD spends around Rs. 1.16 crore annually on blades used by devotees during hair tonsure.
He said that about 40,000 half blades are used at the Kalyanakattas. He appreciated the donor for coming forward to donate blades sufficient for an entire year, terming it a commendable gesture.
On the occasion, the donor, Sridhar Boddupalli, said that keeping the needs of customers in mind, their company was the first in the world to introduce half blades.
He noted that these half blades are extremely useful for barbers in performing tonsure at the Kalyanakattas for devotees.
He further informed that blades manufactured by their company have strong demand in 52 countries, including Europe and the United States, and that they also manufacture blades for the well-known 7 O’Clock brand.
Kalyanakatta AEO Ramakanth was present on the occasion.
