KARIMNAGAR, FEBRUARY 13, 2026: The Bharatiya Janata Party has emerged as the leading party in the Karimnagar Municipal Corporation for the first time under the leadership of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar in Karimnagar town on Friday.
The BJP candidates had continued their sway in the majority of divisions and won from 30 divisions against a total of 66 divisions. The ruling Congress party has been confined to 14 divisions and the BRS to 9 divisions. Surprisingly, the MIM has been restricted to three divisions against its expectations. Independents and others, such as AIFB candidates, have won from 12 divisions.
Buoyed by the success in the elections, the BJP is gearing up to attain the Mayor and deputy Mayor posts in association with the independents or AIFB candidates.
