KARIMNAGAR, FEBRUARY 14, 2026: Two Independent Municipal Corporators have joined the BJP in the presence of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar in Hyderabad on Saturday.
Independent corporators from the 17th division, Vemula Kavitha Chandrashekhar and 39th division Masam Ganesh have joined the BJP. The Union Minister invited them into the party fold with party shawls.
Already, one Independent and an AIFB candidate have extended their support to the BJP after their election on Friday evening. With this, the BJP strength had increased to 34 corporators and with the ex-official members, with sitting Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the number would increase to 35 and attain the Mayor post comfortably on Monday’s elections.
Following the latest developments, other Independents and AIFB corporators were also planning to join the BJP.
