
KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 01, 2025: An awareness programme on World Lung Cancer Day was held at the Telangana Social Welfare Residential Women’s Degree College, Naganuru, on the outskirts of Karimnagar town on Friday. The programme was jointly organised by the Department of Microbiology and the National Service Scheme (NSS).
On this occasion, students from the Microbiology department created poster presentations on lung cancer to educate their fellow students. K. Geeta Rani, a lecturer in the Microbiology department, explained the spread of lung cancer and the measures being taken by the World Health Organization (WHO) and pollution control agencies to prevent it.
The event was attended by the college’s Vice Principal S. Padmaja, ACO G. Vasumathi, NSS Program Officer, Microbiology lecturers K. Geeta Rani, P. Pravitha, T. Suresh Kumar, senior lecturers Erroju Venkateshwarlu, P. Shankaraiah, Head of the Zoology Department M. Kalyani, as well as other faculty members and students.
