One-Time Promotions to Category-C and Category-B Without Vacancy Constraints

HYDERABAD, SEPTEMBER 18, 2025: Qualified EP Operators working in Open Cast mines will soon receive promotions from Excavation Category-D to Excavation Category-C and from Excavation Category-C to Excavation Category-B. With this, approximately 150 operators across Singareni will benefit.
The management has agreed to promote operators who have completed two years in Excavation Category-D to Excavation Category-C and operators who have completed three years in Excavation Category-C to Excavation Category-B. Accordingly, as per the instructions of CMD Sri N. Balram, orders were issued on Thursday. These promotions will be granted as a one-time measure, irrespective of vacancies.
In the recently held 38th CMD-level and 50th Director (PA&W) level structured meetings, after extensive discussions on the proposal given by the recognised union, a positive decision was taken.
Previously, EP Operators who completed two years in Excavation Category-D and qualified in the practical test and assessment report were promoted from Excavation Category-D to Excavation Category-C based on vacancies. Similarly, those who completed three years in Excavation Category-C and qualified in the practical test and assessment report were promoted from Excavation Category-C to Excavation Category-B only when vacancies arose.
In response to this matter, the management constituted a committee. After discussions, the committee submitted a report. Upon reviewing the report, the company Chairman & Managing Director, N. Balram, agreed to grant one-time promotions regardless of vacancies, following company rules and regulations.
Accordingly, by March 2025 or September 2025, all EP Operators who have completed two years of service in Excavation Category-D will be promoted to Excavation Category-C. Similarly, all EP Operators who have completed three years of service in Excavation Category-C will be promoted to Excavation Category-B, provided they qualify in the practical test and assessment report. Because of this decision, approximately 150 EP Operators across Singareni will receive promotions in total.
