The Alphores educational institutions also announced that the conduct of Maha Padi Pooja is a significant devotional ritual in the Hindu worship of Lord Ayyappa, where devotees celebrate the 18 sacred steps of the Sabarimala temple at Alphores e-techno school on November 26. The “Maha” (great) prefix emphasises the importance of this extensive worship, which often takes place during the Mandala-Makaravilakku pilgrimage season. It involves decorating the 18 steps with flowers and lamps, followed by devotional singing (bhajans), and concluding with the main rituals led by priests.
In a statement here on Monday, Alphors educational institutions chairman V Narender Reddy informed the Ayyappa devotees to participate in the Maha padi puja and seek the blessings of Lord Ayyappa. He also said that they would also serve ‘biksha’ after the puja rituals to all the devotees.
