
RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, AUGUST 11, 2025: To mark the National Deworming Day, the Telangana Social Welfare Residential Degree College for Women, Shatrajpalli, Vemulawada, organised a programme to administer Albendazole tablets to students in the Rajanna-Sircilla district on Monday.
College Principal K Lavanya administered the Albendazole tablets to the students. Speaking on the occasion, she said: “Due to worms in the stomach 50 per cent of children fall prey to the deficiency of blood, and as a result, they lag in academics, sports and other extracurricular activities. National Deworming Day is aimed at administering Albendazole tablets to children to destroy worms in the stomach. For holistic growth, these tablets are a must for children.”
She said: “Albendazole tablets are given to children aged between 1-19 years of age. Children who would be left out of it now will be given these tablets in the mop-up round later.” He said: “The albendazole tablet kills worms inside the stomach of children. It also helps treat malnutrition and irritability in children and enhances their memory. These tablets are safe with no side effects.” Health Supervisor P. Sumalatha, faculty members G. Srilatha, K. Bhagyalakshmi, and students were also present.
