HANAMKONDA, APRIL 08, 2026: A two-day national seminar on the theme “Innovating Commerce and Business for Inclusive and Sustainable Growth: FinTech, MSMEs and Green Strategies in India” was inaugurated at Kakatiya Government College, Hanamkonda, under the auspices of the Department of Commerce with the sponsorship from the Indian Council of Social Science Research, on Wednesday.
The Seminar Chairman and College Principal, Prof. G. Srinivas, stated that development is possible only through innovative thinking rather than traditional approaches. He emphasized that technological advancements in banking and the rise of Artificial Intelligence are significantly transforming the fields of commerce and business.
Vice Principal Mrs. Rajini Latha highlighted that corporate organizations are adopting innovative strategies to attract customers and ensure efficient delivery of goods in the modern business environment.
Seminar Convenor Prof. Rajasekhar explained that the seminar focuses on key contemporary issues such as financial technology, sustainable growth, and green strategies. He expressed confidence that the two-day deliberations would result in constructive insights and recommendations.
As a chief guest, IQAC Coordinator Prof. Srinath appreciated the efforts of the Department of Commerce. Prof. Elamanchili Ramakrishna from the Institute of Public Enterprise, Hyderabad, delivered the keynote address. He discussed the technological transformations in the banking sector and the increasing use of UPI payments, noting both their convenience and associated challenges. He cautioned that “dark patterns” are influencing youth towards unnecessary borrowing and advised people to remain vigilant. He also pointed out that Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) continue to face financial difficulties and often depend on non-banking sources for funding, which is not a healthy trend. He stressed the need for greater governmental support for MSMEs.
In the first technical session, Prof. Rajkumar from National Institute of Technology Warangal delivered a keynote lecture, stating that technological changes in banking have made services more accessible to customers. Session Chair Prof. Harikanth from Satavahana University observed that there have been significant changes in personal finance, with mobile-based borrowing and repayment becoming easier than ever. The session was coordinated by J. Chinna and Anil Kumar.
In the subsequent session, chaired by A. Satish Kumar of Government Degree College, Peddapalli, it was noted that initiatives like Make in India and Start-Up India are contributing to industrial growth in the country. Resource person Suresh Chandra, Associate Professor from Vignan University, Hyderabad, stated that despite government support, the MSME sector continues to face several challenges. He emphasized that for India to emerge as a developed nation by 2047, MSMEs must achieve substantial growth. This session was coordinated by Md. Yakub and B. Srinivasulu.
The seminar witnessed active participation from faculty members including Ravikumar (Staff Club Secretary), J. Chinna, Shiva Naga Srinu, Yakub, Umadevi, A. Anil Kumar, B. Srinivas, Gangishetty Srinivas, Naveen, Vinay, Balachander, Madhava Shankar, Sunitha, Vandana, and others.
