PEDDAPALLI, APRIL 10, 2026: A special extension lecture titled “Telangana Telugu – Native Beauty” (Telangana Telugu – Deshiya Soundaryam) was organised by the Department of Telugu at the Government Degree College, Peddapalli, on Friday.
The renowned linguist, Professor Matta Sampath Kumar Reddy, graced the occasion as the chief speaker. In his address, Professor Reddy emphasised that Telangana Telugu is not merely a language but a symbol of the land’s culture and identity. He explained with various examples how warmth and native beauty are embedded in our idioms, proverbs, and everyday vocabulary.
He noted that while foreign words are entering the language due to changing times, it is the responsibility of students to preserve the purity of our root language. Following the lecture, the Head of the Telugu Department, Kanjarla Sreelatha, along with other faculty members and students, honoured the speaker with a floral bouquet and a shawl. Professor Matta Sampath Kumar Reddy also provided engaging answers to several questions raised by the students during the interactive session. The programme was successfully conducted with the active participation of the college faculty and students.
