
KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 14, 2025: Vivekananda Residential School (CBSE), Karimnagar, was filled with devotion and festivity as students and staff came together to celebrate Janmashtami, marking the birth of Lord Krishna on Thursday.
The programme began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries, symbolising the dispelling of darkness and the ushering in of knowledge and positivity. This was followed by a soulful prayer song sung by the school’s young voices, creating a serene and devotional atmosphere.
A delightful skit performance by the students of Classes 1 and 2 depicted scenes from Lord Krishna’s childhood, drawing smiles and applause from the audience. Adding more colour to the celebrations, the children presented two vibrant dance performances, showcasing the joy and energy associated with Janmashtami. The rhythmic movements, graceful expressions, and traditional attire added charm to the event.
One of the highlights was a colourful ramp walk by Classes 1 and 2, where the little ones dressed as Lord Krishna, Radha, and gopikas, captivating everyone with their innocence and grace. The excitement reached its peak during the pot-cracking ceremony, where students enthusiastically participated in the traditional Dahi Handi event, symbolising teamwork, courage, and the playful spirit of Krishna.
Headmistress V. Anitha addressed the gathering, highlighting the spiritual significance of the festival and the values that Lord Krishna’s life teaches us. Advisor to the Managing Committee, Gandra Laxman Rao, commended the students for their enthusiastic participation and performances. Chairman Dr. Sudhakar Rao Polasani, Director (Academics) Dr. T. Lalitha Kumari, and Principal Renuka Balivada extended their greetings and conveyed warm wishes to students and staff on this auspicious occasion.
