A couple, Sarath Babu and Mounika, hailing from the Warangal district of Telangana, arrived at Tirumala on Sunday night for the darshan of Sri Venkateswara swamy.
Upon reaching the R.B. Centre parking area near the SV Museum by taxi, Mounika stepped aside into a nearby dark area to apply turmeric to her feet. During this time, she felt a sudden touch on her leg and panicked. Her husband, Sarath Babu, inspected the area and noticed a small snake.
Immediately, the security personnel were alerted. The Security promptly shifted the devotee to Aswini Hospital at Tirumala.
After a thorough medical examination, doctors confirmed that there was no sign of snake bite.
However, as a precautionary measure and keeping the devotee’s well-being in mind, she was referred to SVIMS Hospital, Tirupati, where doctors once again examined her and confirmed that there was no medical complication.
It was also found during the inquiry that the snake was non-venomous. The concerned devotees expressed their gratitude to the TTD staff for their timely support and assistance.
This morning, the couple safely had the darshan of Sri Venkateswara.
Appeal to Devotees
Devotees are requested to enter the queue lines only through the designated routes and areas prescribed by TTD and to avoid moving around the prohibited forest areas in and around Tirumala in the interest of their own safety.
