The students visited Tirupati, Tirumala and Srikalasti without spending a single paise and entire trip was organised with the support of philanthropists
KARIMNAGAR, JANUARY 17, 2026: A 122-member contingent from Zilla Parishad High School, Chakunta, Choppadandi mandal, Karimnagar district, on a five-day educational-cum-religious and cultural tour to the historic Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) during the Sankranthi holidays.
The students, accompanied by their teachers, non-teaching staff and other villagers and Principal Kalikota Tirumal paid their sacred tribute to Lord Venkateshwara Swamy and other temples in Tirumala and Tirupati. The school principal took the initiative by motivating the philanthropists for the pilgrimage for the poor government school students.
Usually, the educational institutions take educational tours to the nearest resorts, museums and other ancient and historical monuments. But, the ZPHS principal, with the support of philanthropists, had fulfilled the dream come true of students to have darshan of ‘Kaliyuga Daivam’ (Lord Venkateshwara Swamy) at the sacred Tirumala hills without spending a single paisa.
The philanthropists, including the students of the principal Kalikota Tirumal, had made all arrangements, including the purchase of train tickets, allocation of buses for transportation at Tirupati and Tirumala, and accommodation. The Railway authorities had also sponsored food for the visiting students and their contingent of the ZPHS, Chakunta.

Besides, the philanthropists had donated silk vastrams to the girl and boy students and teaching community and other visitors of the contingent. Another sponsor had donated silver memento to all the visitors and distributed laddu prasadams to the contingent.
Government teacher and anchor Nandi Srinivas explained the importance of the TTD to the contingent members. Singer Gajoju Nagabhushanam rendered religious songs on the occasion to entertain the students and promote religious fervour among them.
Education department Model School Director Sunnam Srinivas Chary was present all through the yatra for three days in Tirumala by taking the contingent to the Papavinashanam, Akashaganga, Japali Anjaneya Swamy temple, and to the Sri Kalahasti temple.
The sponsors include: buses for transportation at Tirupati and Tirumala, Mallareddy and sons, Chakunta village, darshan tickets, former MLC and alumni of Govt High School Dhangarwadi, T Santosh Kumar and alumni of GHS Dhangarwadi, Polsani Ravinder Rao, contractor V Mahender Rao, former councillor Mallikurjuna Rajender Rao, alumnus of GHS Dhangarwadi, Kamalapur, Lambadipalli, ZPHS Edula Lingampet.
The silk dresses were donated by Dr Saroja Prabhakar Reddy, retired Collector, SUDA chairman Komatireddy Narender Reddy, and contractor Chennamanemi Srinivasa Rao. The train tickets sponsorers are Rachakonda Tirupati Goud, Rama Linga Reddy and Shoba Rani, snacks by Nanda foods Praveen Rao, Food at Tirupati by the Railway manager Chekkilla Anand and others.
