Additional EO Review of various departments at Tirumala
TIRUMALA, NOVEMBER 04, 2025: TTD Addl EO Ch Venkaiah Chowdary reviewed with the officials of various departments at the Sri Padmavathi Rest House meeting hall in Tirumala on Monday on various operational matters.
Venkatadri Nilayam (PAC-5)
In the meeting, the Addl. EO instructed the Engineering department to examine options for installing solar panels for hot water supply to pilgrims and to arrange the required operational infrastructure immediately.
He observed that pilgrims are leaving their footwear in an unorganised manner at the entrance of Venkatadri Nilayam. To resolve this issue, he directed the officials concerned to arrange stainless steel chappal racks by creating a passage before the entrance, so that every pilgrim necessarily has to walk through the passage and keep their footwear in the racks before entering the complex.
He also instructed the authorities to continuously alert the pilgrims through the Public Address System, not to enter inside with footwear and to maintain cleanliness inside.
The Addl EO directed that the vacancy position of lockers, halls, Kalyana Katta, medical facilities and Annaprasadam services should be consolidated by the Reception wing and communicated dynamically through the PA system.
He further instructed the Vigilance department to deploy adequate manpower for the safety of pilgrims and to install CC cameras at all vulnerable points. Till full utilisation of PAC-5 is achieved, only one entry shall be allowed for both entry and exit to ensure better control and safety of pilgrims’ belongings.
Review on Ghat Road Management
Later the Addl EO also reviewed the BT coating works on the Second Ghat Road.
Discussions were held on signage boards, trimming of tree branches obstructing the view, and diversion of water falling onto the down ghat road near Akkagarla Gudi.
He instructed to install uniform and aesthetically designed signboards at all important locations on ghat roads, duly complying with road safety norms and NHAI standards.
He directed the Forest officials to immediately trim the branches obstructing road safety signage boards.
The Addl EO also observed that pilgrims trekking to Tirumala from Alipiri are facing inconvenience due to water falling from the hillocks onto the down ghat road near Akkagarla Gudi. He instructed the TTD CE Sri Satyanarayana to plan for culverts so that the falling water can be diverted through canals towards the forest.
Review of Solid Waste Management
A review meeting was also held on solid waste management in Tirumala. During the meeting, the Addl EO discussed the commencement of operations of the IOCL waste management plant.
He instructed the concerned officials to expedite the completion of the IOCL plant works, so that the solid waste generated in Tirumala can be used for producing bio-gas at the earliest.
