On this occasion, the Minister said that they had fought against the BRS for failing to fulfil the promise of development of the Vemulawada temple town. He said that the Congress government under the chief minister of A Revanth Reddy had taken up the development of the Vemulawada temple in a sprawling four acres of land at a cost of Rs 150 crore and developed the Medaram Samakka-Sarakka temple too.
On the other hand, the devotees had thronged in large numbers to offer prayers to Lord Shiva at the temple shrine by forming serpentine queue lines. The devotees competed in offering the traditional ritual of tying an ox at the shrine. The temple authorities had made elaborate arrangements for the comfort of the devotees by providing adequate queue lines, free breakfast and lunch and the erection of temporary sheds.
