
Devotees throng in large numbers to offer prayers to Lord Shiva
RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, OCTOBER 14, 2024: Minister for Endowments, Environment and Forests Konda Surekha visited Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy devasthanam in Vemulawada of Rajanna-Sircilla district on Monday.
She was received by Government Whip Adi Srinivas Collector Sanjay Kumar Jha and SP Akhil Mahajan, temple EO Vinod Reddy and other officials. She was given a guard of honour by the police officials.
Later, she visited the temple where the priests had accorded a traditional welcome. She offered special prayers and participated in the tying of ox (kode mokku) ritual. The temple authorities presented her with Prasadam and portrait of the shrine. She also offered bonam at Sri Baddi Pochamma temple in the temple town. She participated in the tonsuring of head of her grandson.
On the other hand, the temple shrine was packed to the brim with the arrival of hordes of devotees after the Dasara festival. Following the last day of the Dasara holidays, the devotees had come from far flung places to offer prayers to the presiding deity.
