It is a customary practice to perform Koil Alwar Thirumanjanam before Brahmotsavams. Accordingly, the temple rituals commenced in the early morning with Suprabhatam, followed by Abhishekam to the presiding deity.
The Koil Alwar Thirumanjanam was conducted from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., during which the sanctum sanctorum, Dwajasthambam, sub-shrines, and temple (surroundings) were ceremonially cleansed and sanctified.
