TIRUPATI/AMAVARATIM NOVEMBER 27, 2025: Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Nara Chandrababu Naidu performed the Bhoomi Puja and the auspicious Adhiveshtaka Shilanyasam for the development works of the second prakaram of the Sri Venkateswara Temple at Venkata Palem in the state capital Amaravati, on Thursday.
As part of the programme, the processional deities of Sri Venkateswara Swamy with Sri Devi and Bhu Devi were brought to the specially arranged Yagashala in the temple premises. Priests conducted Chaturveda Parayanam, Nivedana, Divya Samarpana, Homa, Poornahuti, followed by Vedic blessings.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister participated in the Poornahuti ritual and later laid the foundation stone amidst Vedic chants, traditional instrumental music, and the devotional recitation of ‘Govinda Namams’ by devotees. This marked the commencement of the construction of the Second Maha Prakaram, Chaturdhara Gopurams, and various other development works of the temple.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that with a sacred resolve, the government is committed to building a Tirumala-like Sri Venkateswara Temple in Amaravati, the capital of Andhra Pradesh. Constructing the temple on the banks of the Krishna River will bestow divine strength upon the region, he said. He emphasised that Amaravati will be built to reflect the glory of the Capital of the Gods, and every effort is being made to ensure that the temple reflects that divine grandeur.

The Chief Minister stated that he approaches the temple not just as the head of the government but as a humble devotee. He noted that earlier, during the tenure of former Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao, the Annadanam program in TTD was initiated, and during his own tenure, the Pranadanam scheme at SVIMS was launched. He also recalled how divine grace protected him even when 23 Claymore mines were planted during an assassination attempt.
He requested TTD to take responsibility for completing the Amaravati Sri Venkateswara Temple on 25 acres with an estimated cost of ₹260 crore. He further added that the government aims to ensure health, prosperity, and happiness for every citizen. He also appreciated the 29,000 farmers who voluntarily offered 33,000 acres of land for the development of Amaravati.
Later, the Hon’ble Chief Minister reviewed the master plan prepared for the development of the Amaravati Sri Venkateswara Temple and gave several instructions to the officials. He then offered prayers at the Dwajasthambam, sought the blessings of the deity, and received Vedic blessings from scholars. TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu and EO Anil Kumar Singhal presented the Hon’ble Chief Minister with Sri Vari Laddu Prasadam and a portrait of the Lord.
