TIRUPATI, JANUARY 08, 2025: In a bizarre incident, at least four persons were killed and several others injured when the devotees thronged the counters to collect the tickets for the Vaikunta Dwara darshan at Srinivasam, Vishnu nivasam, Satayanarayanapuram and Ramanaidu circles in Tirupati town on Wednesday night.
The TTD has announced to issue Vaikunta dwara darshan from Thursday onwards (January 09, 2025) from 5 am onwards by opening 94 counters. However, the devotees had arrived in large numbers on Wednesday. The stampede occurred following the release of devotees at a time.
The TTD has announced to issue of about 1.2 lakh tokens for Vaikunta dwara darshan from January 10 to 12, 2025. In the stampede, a woman devotee from Salem in Tamil Nadu and others were reportedly killed.
