
60 camera traps and 31 solar-powered active cameras were deployed along both sides of the Alipiri–Tirumala footpaths, strategically positioned to monitor wildlife movements in high-traffic pilgrim areas
The meeting was held in the chambers of EO in the TTD Administrative Building in Tirupati, along with JEO Veerabrahmam.
TTD DFO Phanikumar Naidu presented a detailed PowerPoint presentation on the plantation program taken up in Tirumala in the last year, replacement of Acacia auriculiformis Plantations in a phased manner, development of Medicinal & Herbal Gardens, sustainable forest restoration and many other activities.
The presentation also highlighted, 7,000 saplings of native species so far such as Thaandra, Raavi, Usiri, Velaga, Juvvi, Marri, Neredu, Athi, and Red Sanders, have been planted in the last year as against the target of 20 thousand saplings, besides several watershed and Soil Conservation Works, soil stabilisation and many others.

The EO also suggested that the officials concerned come up with more advanced surveillance cameras and a comprehensive ecological sustainability plan for Tirumala.
