TIRUMALA, AUGUST 10, 2024: The annual three-day Pavitrotsavam are scheduled at Tirumala shrine from August 15 to 17, 2024.
On the first day, Pavitra Pratista, second-day Pavitra Samarpana and on the last day Pavitra Purnahuti will be observed. Every day there will be Snapana Tirumanjanam to the deities.
The festival is believed to have commenced in 1962 to waive off sins that were committed either knowingly or unknowingly by the religious staff, temple staff, employees and even devotees all through the year through Agama rituals.
On this occasion, the TTD has cancelled Sahasra Deepalankarana Seva on August 14, besides Tirupavada on August 15 and also cancelled Klayanotsavam, Unjal Seva and Arjita Brahmotsavams and Sahasra Deepalankara seva on all the three days.
