HYDERABAD, SEPTEMBER 24, 2025: The National Institute of Plant Health Management (NIPHM), Hyderabad, an autonomous institute under the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) on 24th September 2025 at Hyderabad. The MoU was signed in the august presence of Prof. Aldas Janaiah Vice Chancellor, PJTSA and Dr. Sagar Hanuman Singh, Director General, NIPHM along with senior officials from both institutions.
Through this collaboration, NIPHM and PJTAU will jointly offer Diploma (6 months) and Post Graduate Diploma (12 months) programmes in Plant Health Management. These unique programmes are aimed at developing plant health experts and specialists in pesticide quality and residue analysis, with specialization options in Plant Health Management, Plant Biosecurity, Pesticide Management, and Plant Health Engineering.
The courses are structured with a strong practical orientation, incorporating classroom learning, laboratory sessions, field visits, Farmers’ Field Schools (FFS), hands-on training, and industry exposure. Students will also gain experience with state-of-the-art laboratories equipped with advanced instruments such as GC-MS/MS and LC-MS/MS, along with opportunities for skill enhancement electives, internships, and placements.
Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor of PJTSAU emphasised that the partnership would expand educational opportunities for students and strengthen their career prospects. The Director General of NIPHM highlighted that the institute remains committed to advancing environmentally sustainable practices and shaping skilled professionals for the agriculture sector.
