HYDERABAD, JUNE 15, 2025: The Emergency Response Support System (Dial-112), introduced by the Central Government, is now operational in Telangana State and is managed from the Telangana Integrated Command and Control
Centre (TGiCCC), Hyderabad. This system integrates all major emergency service numbers under one umbrella – Dial 112 – including Police (100), Fire (101), Ambulance (108), Women Safety (181), Child Protection (1098), and Disaster Management (1077). It plays a vital role in tracing missing persons and preventing serious crimes such as murders and rape attempts.
On 13th June 2025, the system effectively prevented at least four major incidents in a single day, including tracing of a missing child, prevention of a rape attempt, an attempted murder, and a molestation case. In each instance, distress callers contacted Dial-112 from different police jurisdictions across the state.
The Dial-112 team responded swiftly, immediately alerting the respective police stations. Field officers acted without delay, reached the scenes promptly, and achieved commendable results in the following four cases:
Missing Child Traced: A missing child was safely traced and reunited with his mother, Sunitha Dev, a resident of Labour Colony, Kokapet in Narsingi police station limits.
Molestation Prevention: One individual was apprehended for recording unauthorized videos of a woman. He was handed over to the Amberpet police station for further inquiry and appropriate legal action.
Attempt Murder Prevented: A man attempting to murder his father during an altercation was apprehended and handed over to the Kethepally police station, Nalgonda district for further investigation and legal proceedings.
Rape Attempt Prevented: A rape attempt on a woman by her son-in-law was successfully prevented. The accused was taken into custody and handed over to the Sangareddy Town police station for necessary legal action.
The timely and efficient response by the Dial-112 team and the swift action of the field officers are highly commendable. These incidents underscore the critical importance of prompt emergency response and highlight the effectiveness of the Emergency Response Support System in safeguarding public safety
The Telangana state Police urges citizens to make use of Dial-112 services without hesitation during any emergency. Your timely call can save a life, said TGiCCC, Hyderabad Director VB Kamalasan Reddy in a statement here on Sunday
