KARIMNAGAR, JULY 03, 2024: The Karimnagar One Town police have registered a criminal case under Bharath Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against Huzurabad BRS legislator Padi Kaushik Reddy for obstructing officials from discharging their duties on Wednesday.

Police sources said that the Huzurabad legislator staged a protest in the Zilla Parishad last general body meeting in Karimnagar town on Tuesday demanding suspension of DEO Ch VS Janardhan Rao. The MLA along with other ZPTC members staged dharna by squatting on the flood obstructing Collector Pamela Satpathy from leaving the hall.

Following a complaint lodged by ZP CEO Srinivas, the Karimnagar one town police registered a case under BNS sections 221, 126 (2) and others sections against the BRS legislator.

BRS working president and former Minister K Taraka Rama Rao has strongly condemned the registration of a criminal case against the BRS legislator for lodging his protest in a democratic set up demanding action against the corrupt DEO. Alleging that the government was resorting to vendetta politics to suppress the opposition parties, he said that the BRS is not scared of any criminal case and would fight for the protection of the democratic rights of the people.
