KARIMNAGAR, FEBRUARY 03, 2026: Vice-Chancellor of Satavahana University, Prof. Umesh Kumar, and the Registrar, Prof. B. Satish Kumar, have issued orders recognising 17 Lecturers from the Government Degree Colleges under the jurisdiction of Satavahana University, Karimnagar as Research Supervisors to guide the PhD Scholars.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Umesh Kumar stated that this is the first time in the history of Satavahana University that the Government Degree College Lecturers have been appointed as PhD Supervisors. He urged the lecturers to make effective use of this opportunity and to guide the PhD scholars towards high-quality research.

Registrar Prof. B. Satish Kumar informed that Research Supervisor orders have been issued to five lecturers from the Telugu Department, seven from the Commerce Department, and five from the Botany Department. Those who received the orders as PhD, supervisors from the Telugu Department include: Principal Prof. Kalvakunta Ramakrishna, Kothireddy Mallareddy, Tatvadi Pramod Kumar, Burla Chandrasekhar, and Sharada; from the Commerce Department: Principal Vijayagiri Bikshapathi, Ananthula Satish Kumar, T. Lavanya, M. Mallareddy, Harjyoth Kaur, Burla Naresh, and Kampalli Arjun; and from the Botany Department: Tirukovela Srinivas, Aadepu Srinivas, Odelu, Balaraju, and Padala Thirupati.
These supervisors will soon guide PhD scholars allotted by Satavahana University through the SRR Government Arts & Science College (Autonomous)-Research Centre. Expressing gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, and Research Director for providing encouragement and support to new, innovative, and quality research, SRR Government College Principal Prof. K. Ramakrishna stated that eight lecturers from SRR College alone received the PhD guidance is a historic milestone.
On this occasion, TGCCTA State General Secretary Kadaru Surender Reddy said that, according to the guidance and suggestions of former Commissioner of Collegiate Education Mr Naveen Mittal, IAS, and the continuous efforts of the association over several years, government degree college lecturers have been granted PhD guidance, describing it as a rare and remarkable achievement. He appealed to the newly appointed supervisors to strive for high-quality research.
