HYDERABAD, FEBRUARY 03, 2026: A six-member media delegation from Hyderabad has embarked on a five-day tour of Bhubaneshwar, Odisha, organised by the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Hyderabad, on Monday.
The visit aims at providing insights to journalists on key development initiatives of the Centre and highlight Odisha’s cultural and heritage significance.

The delegation was welcomed by Additional Director General of PIB and the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Akhil Kumar Mishra, and other officers.
On the first day, the delegation visited the PIB office in Bhuvaneshwar where ADG, Akhil Kumar Mishra, briefed them on the media landscape in Odisha and various publicity and outreach programmes undertaken by PIB and CBC.
On the second day of the tour, the media delegation visited the CSIR–Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (CSIR–IMMT) here. Scientists briefed the journalists on the institute’s research activities, laboratory facilities and contributions in the field of minerals and materials technology.
Chief Scientist Kali Sanjay said the Centre is taking policy and strategic steps to make India self-reliant in critical minerals, adding that CSIR–IMMT is playing a key role in this effort.
Simultaneously, the delegation visited Kala Bhoomi to gain insights into Odisha’s art, culture and handicrafts.
The media delegation will be on tour till 6th of February, visiting various central institutes and cultural heritage sites.
