
NALGONDA, SEPTEMBER 24, 2025: Vice Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) Prof Khaja Althaf Hussain participated in the vibrant Bathukamma celebrations organised by MGU’s NSS wing on Wednesday. The event showcased the rich cultural heritage of Telangana with staff from various constituent colleges on the campus, examination branch, administration, and hostels directorate coming together to decorate Bathukamma with flowers and celebrate with traditional dances and songs.
As the chief guest, Vice Chancellor Prof Khaja Althaf Hussain praised Bathukamma as a cultural symbol of Telangana, emphasising the importance of unity and harmony. He noted that flowers represent unity in diversity and called for the people of India to move forward with unity and affection.
Mementoes were presented to the faculty members, staff, and officials who prepared the Bathukamma with devotion. The event was attended by NSS Coordinator Maddileti, college principals, deans, and other faculty members, including Sridevi, K. Aruna Priya, Prem Sagar, and K. Anji Reddy, among others.
The celebration reflected the values of unity and harmony that Bathukamma represents, bringing together the university community in a spirit of togetherness and cultural appreciation.
