World Food Day observed
KARIMNAGAR, OCTOBER 16, 2024: Department of Economics of Government Degree College, Jammikunta, Karimnagar district, organised a one-day workshop on ‘Government’s Food Policy- Critical Evaluation’ on the occasion of World Food Day on Wednesday.
Presiding over the workshop, College Principal B Ramesh enlightened the students on the importance of nutritional food security to all poor people. Local KVK Jammikunta scientist A Prashanthi educated the students about consuming nutritional food containing vitamins, protein and other nutrients.
Another resource person from KVK, Jammikunta L Mahesh, talked about the need to launch a Green Revolution after Independence in the country to increase food grain production to meet the growing population.
Organic Farmer G Srikanth interacted with participants with respect to organic food grains and its importance in view of health. Workshop convener KRajendram, IQAC coordinator S O Kumar, K Ganesh, other lecturers E Ravi, L Ravi, Madhavi, Umakiran, Srinivas Reddy, Mamata, Sai, Kirankumar, Rajkumar and students participated. Later the organic farmer was felicitated by the college faculty.
