

HYDERABAD, OCTOBER 15, 2025: National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad, celebrated ‘Mahila Kisan Diwas’ on October 15, 2025, with the theme “Empowering Women Farmers for a Prosperous Nation.” More than 80 Women entrepreneurs from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Gujarat participated in the program.
Dr Sagar Hanuman Singh, IPoS, Director General, NIPHM; Chetana Jain, President, COWE, Telangana Chapter & National Joint Secretary, COWE; Smt. Bhavyata Ben, SEWA Gujarat; and Smt. Ujvala Ganesh Raut, FWWB, Maharashtra, were present for the celebration as the chief guest.
In his address, Dr Sagar Hanuman Singh, IPoS, Director General, NIPHM, emphasised that women are the backbone of Indian agriculture, actively contributing across all stages—from daily farming operations to procurement and marketing of agricultural produce. He extended his best wishes to all the Mahila Kisan participating in the celebration and encouraged them to continue their journey with confidence and self-motivation. Chetana Jain, President, COWE Telangana Chapter, and National Joint Secretary, COWE, emphasised the importance of showcasing business products and fostering collaborations to strengthen women-led enterprises. She encouraged Mahila Kisans to draw motivation from within and to continue their efforts towards becoming successful women farmers and entrepreneurs. During the program, two books and one policy brief were released by the Chief Guests.
A panel discussion on the topic “Mahila Kisan: Catalysts of Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Prosperity” was organised, featuring women agripreneurs who shared their experiences, success stories, and perspectives on advancing sustainable agriculture and rural development. In addition, an exhibition showcasing products by women entrepreneurs was arranged, featuring a wide range of items such as Rice, Millet-based Products, Vegetables, Pickles, Cashews, Coconuts, milk-processed Products, Products made from bamboo, Snacks, Millet flour, and handcrafted fabric materials.
Dr. Veenita Kumari, Deputy Director (GS), MANAGE, and her team organised and coordinated the celebration. MANAGE faculty and Staff members attended the celebration.
