KARIMNAGAR, DECEMBER 27, 2025: Konduru Ravinder Rao, former chairman of Karimnagar DCCB, has attributed the success of Karimnagar District Cooperative Central Bank (KDCCB) in emerging as the number one cooperative bank in the country to teamwork, transparency, adoption of information technology and no political interference in its functioning.
Mr Ravinder Rao created history in the Telangana state by successfully working as the chairman of KDCCB for two decades from 2005 to 2025. During his tenure, the DCCB registered all-round progress by winning several national awards from NABARD and NAFSCOB. The Bank had become a learning centre for several other cooperative banks in the country, which adopted its best practices by visiting the bank as part of a study tour.
At an ‘Athmeeya abhinandham and veedukolo’ (felicitations and farewell) for successfully completing 20 years of legacy in the cooperative sector by Team DCCB at a function hall in Karimnagar town on Saturday, Mr Ravinder Rao thanked former Chief Minister Dr YS Rajashekhar Reddy for giving him an opportunity to serve in the cooperative sector. When the cooperatives were in doldrums and running in losses, Dr Rajashekhar Reddy implemented the Vaidyanatham committee recommendations and extended financial support for DCCBs.
Recollecting that his brother Konduru Gandhi, former Ministers T Jeevan Reddy and J Ratnakar Rao were instrumental in choosing him to become the Karimnagar DCCB chairman in the year 2005, Mr Rao said that he had a close association with nine Chief Ministers of Telugu-speaking states, including A Revanth Reddy. He recollected that former CM K Chandrashekhar had given free hand for cooperatives and directed for no political interference in its functioning and added that they all strived to increase the deposits from Rs 3,500 crore to 8,100 crore in Karimnagar DCCB.
When a crisis was looming large in Karimnagar DCCB, they had deputed Mallaiah and Bhanu Prasad from TSCAB, who played a crucial role, to set things right in Karimnagar bank. Another reason for the success of the bank is 0.54 NPA and 99 per cent recovery of loans, he stated.
He exuded confidence that the bank would progress for another five decades with the present young brigade of employees. Reminding that the Karimnagar DCCB was the first to take up computerization of the bank and PACS, he said that they had diversified that the PACS into multi-service centres to earn riches by taking up solar plants, function halls, super markets, rice mills, godowns and more.
Malkajgiri MP Etala Rajender also stated that former CM of integrated Andhra Pradesh state Dr YS Rajashekhar Reddy supported for the strengthening of cooperatives and providing income to PACS by taking up procurement of paddy from the farmers. He appealed to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to conduct elections for the local bodies such as Zilla Parishad, Municipalities and Cooperatives.
Minister for Transport and BC Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar, Government Whip Adi Srinivas, legislators Kavvampalli Satyanarayana, Medipalli Satyam, former Minister T Jeevan Reddy, former legislators Arepalli Mohan, V Satish Babu, Putta Madhu, Bodige Shoba, former MLC Naradasu Laxman Rao, Karimnagar Dairy chairman Ch Rajeshwar Rao, DCCB CEO N Satyanarayana Rao, directors and others were also present.
On this occasion, the speakers recollected the services of Mr Ravinder Rao for the strengthening of the cooperative sectors in Karimnagar district, Telangana state and in entire country as DCCB chairman, TSCAB chairman and NAFSCOB chairman. They also hailed the services of Mr Rao in Karimnagar DCCB which were being adopted by the Union Ministry of Cooperation in entire country.
