
KARIMNAGAR, JULY 09, 2025: Employees associated with the Telangana Cooperative Central Bank Employees Association (TCCBEA) Karimnagar district unit have participated in a one-day nationwide strike in protest against the Union government’s decision to privatise the banks and insurance companies on Wednesday.
The employees assembled in front of the Karimnagar District Cooperative Central Bank main office in Karimnagar town and staged a dharna carrying ‘red flags’, raising slogans against the pro-corporate policies of the Union government. They also demanded that the government introduce a two-tier system in the cooperative sector, financial capital assistance to DCCBs, exemption from RBI regulatory norms, exemption from GST on health insurance and other demands.

Later, they took out a procession from the bank to the Indira Chowk, where they joined with other bank employees and trade unions to participate in the rally to the Collectorate. TCCBEA state secretary B Praveen Kumar, district president G Hanumantha Rao, secretary Raju, district leaders Sravathi, Srikanth Reddy, main branch managers K Sunil and Prasoona, Choppadandi manager Manoj and others were also present.
DCCB CEO N Satyanarayana Rao also extended solidarity to the striking bank staff by participating in the dharna. DGMs Brahmanandam and Satya Prasad, AGMs Mahesh, Nagaraju, Imtiaz and others were also present.
