This website is launched by senior journalist K M Dayashankar with a concept of ‘Journalism with a mission of telling truth’. Having three decades of experience in the field of Journalism, Dayashankar has completed his Master of Communication and Journalism (MCJ) and M Phil (Communication and Journalism) from Osmania University and UGC NET qualifications.
He joined the journalism profession as a freelance journalist by writing to the Deccan Chronicle for the ‘Campus notes’ column in the year 1993 while studying. Later, he joined Newstime, the English daily of the Eenadu group of publications from 1994 to 1999. In September 1999, he joined ‘The Hindu’ as staff reporter in Karimnagar district and elevated to the rank of Special Correspondent till his forcible retirement during the outbreak of Covid-19 and subsequent lockdown in June 2020.
He has to his credit of breaking several national stories during his tenure with ‘The Hindu’ in the integrated Karimnagar district. He broke the sensational starvation deaths by the powerloom weavers of Sircilla textile town in March 2001. He was instrumental in breaking a news on the Maoists Naxalites abducting the minors and recruiting them into their fold in the year 2001. Following the news, NHRC registered a suo moto case forcing the Naxalites to release the abducted the minors. He played crucial role in the eradication of Naxalites from the district in the district and Telangana state in by motiving the police officials to take up people-friendly policing.
He helped more than 200 SC\ST land oustees secure employment in the NTPC Ramagundam with his writings on their plight after losing the land to the project. Through his writings, he help several poor and bright students secure financial assistance from the philanthropist for pursuing their higher education such as MBBS, B Tech, IIT etc. He had also won best rural journalist awards twice and received cash award and memento from the state government.
Dayashankar was forced to launch this website as the prestigious National daily ‘The Hindu’ had retrenched several employees as part of the cost-cut measures after the outbreak of deadly Covid-19 on the pretext of lack of revenues when other newspapers’ management protected the employees during the crisis period.
