Farmers–Students Interaction Programme Successfully Organised
SIDDIPET, NOVEMBER 05, 2026: With the objective of strengthening the connection between agricultural education, research, modern technology, and field-level farming experiences, the School of Agriculture, Kaveri University, successfully organised a Farmers–Students Interaction Programme on Thursday.
The programme provided a valuable platform for farmers and students, who represent the future of the agricultural sector, to exchange knowledge, share practical experiences, and discuss emerging developments in agriculture.
As part of the programme, the visiting farmers were taken on a tour of the university’s agricultural fields, where they explored various agricultural activities, cultivation practices, modern farming methods, and ongoing research initiatives undertaken by the university.

The farmers also visited Kaveri Seeds, where they gained insights into seed production, processing, seed treatment, quality standards, and other important aspects of the seed industry. The visit helped them understand the significant role played by the seed industry in strengthening Indian agriculture.
During the subsequent interaction session, farmers shared their field-level experiences, challenges faced in cultivation, practical difficulties, requirements, and expectations with students and faculty members. In return, students explained modern agricultural technologies, scientific cultivation practices, and innovative approaches that could contribute to improving agricultural productivity.
The programme enabled students to gain practical exposure beyond classroom learning and understand the ground realities of farming. At the same time, it helped farmers become familiar with modern agricultural research, emerging technologies, and scientific farming methods.
The programme highlighted the importance of collaboration among agricultural educational institutions, research centres, industries, and farming communities for promoting farmer welfare, agricultural development, and sustainable farming.
It conveyed a strong message that the future of agriculture depends on the integration of farmers’ experience, students’ knowledge, scientists’ research, and industries’ technological advancements.
The programme was successfully coordinated under the guidance of Dr. G. Pushpalatha, Dean, School of Agriculture, and Professor P. Surender Babu, who played a key role in organising the event. They also provided valuable guidance and suggestions to the farmers on modern agricultural practices, emerging technologies, and scientific cultivation methods, encouraging meaningful knowledge exchange between farmers and students.
Congratulating the faculty members for successfully organising the programme, Vice-Chancellor, Professor V. Praveen Rao, appreciated their efforts and stated that such initiatives play a significant role in connecting agricultural education with practical field experiences, promoting farmers’ welfare, and enhancing students’ professional skills.

He further emphasised that Kaveri University firmly believes in adding practical field experience to classroom knowledge and building strong relationships among farmers, students, educational institutions, and agricultural industries.
The programme stands as another significant initiative by Kaveri University towards strengthening agricultural education, promoting innovation, and contributing to the overall development of the farming community.
