KARIMNAGAR, OCTOBER 17, 2026: The presiding deity of Sri Maha Shakthi temple in Chaitanyapuri locality in Karimnagar town was adorned with currency notes as part of the seventh day of the ongoing Navarathri celebrations on Saturday.
The special decoration was done on the seventh day of the Navarathri, and dressed the goddess as Sri Maha Lakshmi (Kalarathri) in currency notes of various denominations. Similarly, the Goddess Sri Maha Lakshmi was blessing the devotees in ‘nija pada’ darshan, and Goddess Sri Maha Saraswathi was also decorated in currency notes.
A large number of devotees, including devotees wearing Bhavani Deeksha malas, visited the temple shrine to offer prayers to the presiding deities and witness the grand decoration with currency notes. The inner sanctum, decorated with currency notes, brought more festive vibes to the temple.
Devotees want to see the Goddess as Mahalaxmi. Currency is the indication of it. That’s the reason the temple authorities decorated the presiding deities with currency notes at Sri Maha Shakthi temple.
