Two first prizes and one second prize for JITS Karimnagar Students
KARIMNAGAR, OCTOBER 12, 2026: Students of Jyothishmathi Institute of Technology and Science (JITS), Karimnagar, won three prizes at “Pragathi 2.0 – National Level Project Expo 2026”. SR University held the expo at its campus in Ananthasagar, Hasanparthy, Hanumakonda, on Friday (October09, 2026).
More than 120 student teams took part, including over 50 teams from other universities. Under the theme “Innovate – Create – Inspire”, eight industry experts judged the projects on innovation, technical implementation, feasibility, industrial applications and social impact. Cash prizes worth ₹1.5 lakh were given across 23 prize positions in ten thematic categories. Of these 23 prizes, JITS teams won three: two first prizes and one second prize.
First Prize – Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence
Team CampusVoice: “AI-Powered Campus Issue and Resolution System”
The team: Bhanu Teja, Bollabathini Srivighna, Rampelli Sathwika and Katta Sai Santhosh (II Year CSE-D), and T. Harshini (II Year CSE-C).
CampusVoice tackles a common problem: complaints about classrooms, labs, transport, sanitation and Wi-Fi often stay scattered and unresolved, and are forgotten when students graduate. On the platform, students and faculty report an issue. AI then sorts it into a category and spots similar complaints, and other students can add their support. Issues are ranked by impact, severity and how long they have been pending. Management gets priority dashboards and reminders. After an issue is fixed, students can verify the fix or reopen the issue. The system also keeps a long-term record of recurring problems. The team summed up its approach as “Report, Prioritise, Resolve, Verify, Remember.”

First Prize – Electronics & Communication Engineering
Team JumperWires: “Smart Period Pain Relief Device”
The team: Parshuram Reddy, B. Rishwitha and J. Mahitha (II Year ECE), and P. Harini and R. Bindu (III Year CSE-B).
The team built a smart wearable belt that eases menstrual discomfort with heat and gentle vibration. An AI health assistant chatbot comes with it. The belt has sensors for temperature (DS18B20), heart rate (MAX30102) and movement (MPU6050), and an ESP8266 Wi-Fi controller. Safety features stop the therapy when needed and point users to medical help in an emergency. The chatbot runs on a React and FastAPI platform. It uses Retrieval-Augmented Generation, combining keyword and semantic search, to give reliable menstrual-health information. It supports voice, several languages and emergency guidance. The students described it as an educational prototype that supports, but does not replace, professional medical advice.
Second Prize – Civil Engineering & Smart Infrastructure
Team KAARYA: “WorkForce – AI-Powered Smart Construction Workforce Management Platform”
The team: O. Venkatesh and N. Ashish (III Year CSE-D), R. Naga Vaishnavi (III Year CSE-A), and A. Syed Rahamah (IV Year EEE).
WorkForce is an AI-powered employment platform that connects construction workers directly with contractors and employers, reducing dependence on brokers. It matches workers to jobs by skill, location, availability and experience. Workers without smartphones can use it by telephone, which makes the platform more inclusive and supports the growth of smart, sustainable infrastructure.
The JITS management, Principal, Heads of Department and faculty congratulated the 14 winning students and their project guides. They said the results show the institute’s focus on innovation, hands-on learning and technology for social good.
