Key Highlights from the Chief Guest’s Convocation Address
Addressing the graduating class, dignitaries, and families, Shri Sanjay Kumar Agarwal congratulated the students and acknowledged the invaluable support of parents and faculty throughout this journey. Grounding his speech on Nelson Mandela’s famous quote—”It always seems impossible until it’s done”—he noted that convocation is not an end, but the beginning of a lifelong learning journey. He imparted three core pillars of guidance for emerging agribusiness leaders:
- Connected with the Ground: While management principles are vital, the core lies in agriculture. Graduates must remain closely tied to field realities, regularly engaging with farmers, FPOs, extension workers, and scientists to understand real-world challenges across diverse agro-climatic zones.
- Problem Solvers for the Agri-Value Chain: Agriculture is a complex, interconnected system spanning production, technology, finance, logistics, and markets. The true impact comes from connecting these dots and shifting focus from ‘what job am I doing?’ to ‘what problem am I solving?’
- Continuous and Lifelong Learning: With rapid advancements in Artificial Intelligence, digital agriculture, precision farming, biotechnology, and climate-smart technologies, skill sets will evolve rapidly. Continuous curiosity and adaptability will dictate long-term leadership and success.
