Daily special pujas and Dandiyas are special attractions at the temple shrine
KARIMNAGAR, OCTOBER 06, 2026: Sri Mahashakthi temple, in Chaitanyapuri locality of Karimnagar town is being spruced up for the 10-day Sri Devi Navarathri festivities from October 11 to October 20, 2026.
The festivities begin on October 11 with Sri Bala Tripura Sundari (Shailaputri) puja, Ganapathi puja and other puja rituals from 8 am onwards and at 6 pm the priests will conduct Phalaamrutha abhishekham to Goddess Durga.
On October 12: Gayatri Devi puja would be conducted and the goddess would be decorated with turmeric roots at 8 am and and Soundarya lahari and Kanakadhara strotham recitation at 9 am and Lingaarchana at 6 pm,
On October 13: Sri Annapurna Devi (Chandraghanta) puja and decoration of goddess with vegetables at 8 am and Rakala Naivedhyam at 6 pm.
On October 14: Sri Mahachandi Devi (Kushmanda) puja and decoration of the Goddess with turmeric stalks at 8 am and at 6 pm, different Goddesses strotra parayanam.
On October 15: Sri Lalitha Devi (Skanda Matha) puja and decoration of the Goddess with different fruits and Laksha Lalitha sahasranama parayanam at 6 pm.

On October 16: Mula Nakshatra- Sri Saraswathi Devi (Kathyayini) puja and decoration of the goddess with flowers and students to participate in Saraswathi puja at 8 am. Ammavari pallakiseva and Sri Ratan Kumar and team to present classical dance forms at 6 pm.
On October 17: Sri Maha Lakshmi Devi (Kala Rathri) puja and decoration of Goddess with currency notes at 8 am and Sri Lakshmi Sahasra Parayanam at 8 pm.
On October 18: Sri Durga Devi (Maha Gauri) puja (Durga Ashtami) and decoration of Goddess with flowers at 8 am. Bathukamma puja celebrations at 6 pm.
On October 19: Sri Mahishasuramardhinim Devi (Maharanavami) and Rudrasahitha Chandi homam at 8 am and Mahishasumardhi puja at 6pm.
On October 20: Sri Raja Rajeshwari Devi puja (Vijaya Dasami) and Shami puja at 8 am and vehicles puja from 9 am onwards.
Eminent pandit Garrepalli Maheshwara Sharma would be conducting pravachanam daily at 7 pm ‘Sri Bhagavath Vaibhavam). Similarly, there would be Dandiya programmes daily after 9 pm at the temple shrine.
Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar, who was instrumental in the construction of Mahashakthi temple, will wear ‘Bhavani mala’ at the temple shrine. He would participate in all religious programmes during Navarathri at the temple shrine. Sri Mahashakti temple has emerged as a famous religious place for the devotees to offer prayers to Sri Maha Durga, Sri Maha Lakshmi and Sri Maha Saraswathi and Lord Ganapathi and navagrahas at one place at the shrine.
Famous pilgrim centre in North Telangana
Sri Mahashakthi temple in Chaitanyapuri colony in Karimnagar town has become a famous pilgrimage centre in northern Telangana.
Already, several people throng the temple shrine seeking the blessings of the goddesses, and the devotees rush would peak during the Dasara Navarathri celebrations. The temple attained distinction for serving ‘biksha’ (lunch) and alpha (dinner) to the devotees wearing Bhavani mala deeksha. Every day, more than 1500 Bhavani deeksha devotees and others visit the temple for biksha (lunch) and alpa (tiffin).
