HYDERABAD, OCTOBER 05, 2026: The Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, through its Public Sector Undertaking Cotton Corporation of India Ltd. (CCI), will organise a special showcase event in Hyderabad tomorrow, 6 October 2026, as part of Reform Utsav 2026.
The event will showcase reforms undertaken by CCI to make the cotton procurement system more farmer-centric, transparent, technology-driven and efficient. Senior government officials, farmers, industry representatives, policymakers and other stakeholders from the cotton and textile sectors will participate in the programme.
Over the past few years, CCI has introduced several technology-enabled reforms covering farmer registration, digital slot booking, direct payments, quality assessment, traceability and cotton procurement. These measures are aimed at improving transparency, reducing procedural complexities and ensuring better services to cotton farmers.
A key highlight of the event will be a presentation on CCI’s major reforms, followed by a short film showcasing their implementation and impact. Farmers and industry stakeholders will also share their experiences of these initiatives.
The Kapas Kisan digital platform will be showcased as an important initiative for bringing greater transparency to cotton procurement. The platform facilitates farmer registration, slot booking, procurement-related communication and Aadhaar-enabled payments.
The event will also highlight initiatives for cotton quality improvement, digital traceability, contamination control and Kasturi Cotton Bharat, aimed at improving the quality and market positioning of Indian cotton. The High-Density Planting System (HDPS) and other productivity-oriented initiatives will also be showcased.
Central Silk Board to showcase sericulture reforms
The Central Silk Board (CSB), Ministry of Textiles, will showcase reforms aimed at making the sericulture sector more digital, accessible and stakeholder-centric.
The digitisation of Silk Mark services has simplified registration, renewal, payments, documentation and grievance redressal, reducing paperwork and physical visits for silk-sector stakeholders.
The Board will also highlight Mera Resham Mera Abhimaan (MRMA), a technology-transfer campaign aimed at taking proven sericulture technologies from “Lab to Land” through farmer training, demonstrations and field-level interventions.
Another initiative to be showcased is Seri-Tourism, which aims to showcase the complete “Soil-to-Silk” journey through museums, live demonstrations, technology displays and product outlets. The CSB-P4 Basic Seed Farm at Manasbal, Jammu & Kashmir, and CSB-Eri Basic Seed Farm at Topatoli, Assam, are being developed as Seri-Tourism Hubs.
The reforms being showcased at Reform Utsav 2026 reflect the Government’s vision of strengthening the textile value chain — from Farm to Fibre, Fibre to Factory, Factory to Fashion and Fashion to Foreign.
The Hyderabad event will provide a platform for farmers, industry, government agencies and other stakeholders to share experiences and highlight the impact of reforms aimed at creating a more transparent, efficient, technology-enabled and globally competitive cotton and textile sector.
