RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, OCTOBER 04, 2026: The two-day workshop on “Weaving and Textile Marketing” organised by the Telangana Social Welfare Residential Degree College for Women, Vemulawada, Sircilla, concluded on Sunday.
The workshop was organised as part of the 100 Days Action Plan of Satavahana University, with the objective of providing students with practical exposure to traditional weaving techniques and textile marketing.
On the second day, the Marketing Session was conducted by Srinivas, In-charge Principal of Apoorva Institute of Management. He explained various aspects of branding, promotion, packaging and online marketing strategies for handloom products. He also highlighted the importance of effective marketing and digital platforms in promoting traditional handloom products in wider markets.

The Practical Weaving Session was conducted by renowned National Handloom Weavers Veldi Hariprasad and Kondalaxman Bapuji Award Winner Rekha. They demonstrated various fabric weaving techniques, yarn selection and design creation on the loom. The live demonstrations provided students with hands-on exposure to the traditional art and skill of weaving.
The workshop concluded with a Valedictory Ceremony, where the resource persons Veldi Hariprasad, Rekha and Srinivas were felicitated by Principal P.S.R. Sharma, Vice-Principal K. Lavanya, Workshop Coordinator M. Fouzia Bhanu, and Workshop Coordinators Poojita and Pallavi.
The workshop was coordinated by student coordinators K. Kavya and A. Pravalika. The programme provided students with valuable knowledge of weaving, textile design and marketing, while also creating awareness about the importance and potential of the handloom sector.
