Focus on Internationalisation, Research and Industry Linkages: VC Prof. K. Pratap Reddy
HYDERABAD, OCTOBER 03, 2026: Kakatiya University is undertaking major reforms in education, research and technology, including the introduction of an AI-enabled curriculum aligned with future needs, said Vice-Chancellor Prof. K. Pratap Reddy.
Speaking at REACH–2026, organised by TGCHE at the JNTUH Golden Jubilee Hall, he said the University would be developed as a nodal centre for higher education institutions in North Telangana over the next five years, initially benefiting around 2,000 students.
As part of its internationalisation initiatives, the University plans to send 30 engineering students to Germany and facilitate international academic and research programmes for 40 researchers and faculty members.
The University currently has 68+ research projects, 1,000+ international publications and 100+ patents. Efforts are underway to mobilise around ₹50 crore in research funding through government and industry partnerships.
Industry Linkages
The University is strengthening industry–academic partnerships through MoUs with organisations such as CYIENT and T-Hub, focusing on skill development, internships, industry projects, research, technology transfer, startups and innovation.
Prof. Pratap Reddy said the University aims to provide students, particularly from rural and Tier-II regions, with global opportunities in education, research and technology and emerge as an institution of international academic and research standards.
OSD & Dean, Faculty of Science, Prof. B. Venkatram Reddy, and UGC Unit Coordinating Officer Prof. R. Mallikarjun Reddy participated along with the Vice-Chancellor.
The programme was attended by Telangana Minister for Industries, IT and Legislative Affairs Shri Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Cyient Founder and Chairman Shri B. V. Mohan Reddy, TGCHE Chairman Prof. V. Balakista Reddy, Vice-Chairman Prof. E. Purushotham, Secretary Prof. Sriram Venkatesh, besides Vice-Chancellors, faculty, researchers, industry representatives and students.
